Onshore Wind Development Manager – Hamburg, Germany
Company Overview:
Our client is a rapidly expanding Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a strong presence in France and Germany. They are involved in all phases of onshore wind project development, from greenfield and acquisition to financing, construction, and operation. With a robust asset management approach and an in-house technical platform, they are at the forefront of driving sustainable energy projects across Europe.
The Role:
As an Onshore Wind Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and delivering wind energy projects across Germany. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage projects from early-stage development through to financial close.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure suitable sites for onshore wind projects through land acquisition and permitting processes.
- Manage relationships with landowners, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead the permitting process, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact evaluations.
- Coordinate with internal technical, legal, and financial teams to progress projects efficiently.
- Support project financing, including liaising with investors and lenders.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and risk management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in onshore wind project development in Germany.
- Strong knowledge of permitting procedures, land acquisition, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including landowners, municipalities, and government agencies.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with international teams.
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
- A background in renewable energy, engineering, environmental sciences, or related fields is preferred.
